Solution: Flexible, simplified and branded checkout flow that established credibility
An intuitively flexible, well-branded checkout flow and onboarding experience users expect from a well-known brand.
Chicago Tribune is one of 8 local media businesses that’s a part of the Tribune Publishing Company and known for its award-winning journalism. They create and distribute content with a commitment to informing, inspiring, and engaging local communities.
After conducting a digital audit, market analysis, and research I created a product strategy and design that was modern, intuitively flexible, and built on best practices. It was important to provide a well-branded experience that started with the checkout flow, but also reinforced and continued through a new onboarding experience that connected with the existing Welcome Series email campaign.

Product Strategy
Checkout Redesign & Onboarding
While iterating on product designs for both the checkout redesign and new onboarding, I worked with the team to plan, develop prototypes, and run 2 rounds of user testing and research based on opportunities I helped to identify while building out low-fi designs during the strategy phase.
Onboarding
Account Management
After redesigning the subscription checkout and adding an onboarding flow to introduce new and returning consumers to the brand and benefits as a subscriber, a redesign of the account experience was needed. It was a vital priority to update UX to reflect the new experience, but also provide support for new features and enhancements.
